Our emergency grant giving enables older people in the greater Bristol area to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Grants of up to £1,000 support those in financial need with the cost of home repairs and adaptations, mobility aids, home furnishings and more.
To qualify for an emergency grant, individuals must be:
- over 55,
- live in the Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area.
Eligible applicants must apply using a referral organisation - we cannot accept applications from individuals.

Unfortunately, we can’t help with:
- general living expenses,
- debts or outstanding bills,
- moving or travel expenses,
- holidays or respite breaks,
- insurance costs,
- funeral costs,
- clothing,
- crockery and kitchen utensils,
- cleaning.
